#1 – Leaving ….

Sitting in heathrow waiting area i again started to get excited about the trip ahead, up-till this point i was anxious and nervous about the journey for a while.
Weeks and months prior to this point i have been reading other peoples experiences of their cycle rides and try and get any piece of advice i could by reading their blogs and comments, even the trip england to paris in the winter was valuable experience of how to do the simplest of tasks, although i think the language will be easier in USA, as picking up “American” is easier than French.

In the morning i uploaded all the photographs of friends and family to my ipod, i am hopeful these will help me to get past homesickness and any horrible downtime that could potentially arise.
But in reality i am not sure what the journey will bring, and i expect a steep learning curve is ahead of me, not to mention the adjustment of cycling 120-140 miles every 3-4 days in any conditions, i quickly started reading the long distance cyclist’ handbook by simon doughty this morning for some important information (something i should of have done 3 months ago and always have put of) which is just as well as the flight to JFK airport is likely to take some time as i’m stopping of in Iceland.

I must admit that friends work colleagues and family have been giving me unbelievable support and with them i dont think i could undertake this journey and i would like to thank my close loved ones for understanding the reassons for me wanting to undertake this trip.

So please sign up to RSS feed to be kept up to date what i am doing and where im going, hopefully my writing skills will improve along with the grammar, ill try to avoid my terrible puns as much as i can but you may need to bear with it now and again or cycle through ;p

Lots of Love Yaris
